Schlumberger has developed a $100million new imaging technology that makes it possible to discover oil that other technologies cannot see.

The Church answer was not to talk about the technology but to talk about the individual agendas of the three key decision makers within client organisations.

To one group we talked the language of business and politics, to another the language of technology, to the third about the operational issues... To all of them we talked about both their operational and professional agendas.

The message cut through, the stakeholders talked to each other, the enquiries came in...
